Heat Trace Selection GuideSELF-REGULATING

Self-Regulating heating cable for ordinary, corrosive and some hazardous environments prevents freezing of pipes and maintenance of process temperatures. Available in 3, 5, 8 and 10 W/ft for low temperature applications with a maximum pipe temperature maintenance of 150°F. Also available are 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 and 20 W/ft for medium temperature ranges to 250°F maximum pipe maintenance temperatures. Features include single-layer overlapping, cut to maximum circuit length and explosion resistant capabilities. With self-regulating heating cable, any application can benefit from energy savings, low maintenance and reduced risk of over temperature conditions. To ensure compatibility, consult the National Electrical Code for classification of your Hazardous Area before selecting heating cable.

Heat Trace Selection GuideCONSTANT WATTAGE

Constant Wattage heating cable provides process temperature maintenance to 350°F and freeze protection on steam-cleaned lines. Available in 4, 8 and 12 watts per linear foot. Rugged construction can withstand steam cleaning to 225 psi (392°F) while de-energized. Optional tinned-copper braid permits use in some hazardous areas. Fluoropolymer jackets are available for corrosive applications. Other features include constant heat output and cutting to maximum circuit length. With constant wattage heating cable, your application can benefit from the constant heat output and low installation cost. To ensure compatibility, consult the National Electrical Code for classification of your Hazardous Area before selecting heating cable.

Heat Trace Selection GuideCONTROLS

Controls are available in local or remote power control packages that consist of NEMA 4X construction and include all wiring, terminal blocks and mounting supports. Controls are available as mechanical or solid state for use in ambient or line sensing applications. A large number of available models in stock allow selection of reliable and accurate controls. Intended for use in ordinary and hazardous locations with process temperatures up to 600°F.

Heat Trace Selection GuideSELF-REGULATING FREEZE PROTECTION

Self-Regulating Freeze Protection heating cable is ideal for freeze protection of water lines in commercial, non-industrial applications. Available in 3, 5 and 8 W/ft, SRF provides reliability, is energy efficient and permits single-layer overlapping to reduce risks of burnout. No.16 AWG buss wires allow for long circuit lengths. Optional braiding provides groundpath while overcoat provides water resistance. Check with your local Chromalox sales office for Third Party Approvals or Listings for ordinary locations (UL, CSA, FM, etc.).

Mineral InsulatedMINERAL INSULATED

Mineral Insulated heating cable is ideal for the most rugged pipe tracing applications to 1200°F. Incoloy(r); or copper sheath materials resist damage, are fire resistant, and provide for a good electrical ground. Select from custom configurations with a single or dual conductor cable.

Power Contol PanelsPOWER CONTROL PANELS

Power Control Panels, manufactured with the quality standards of ISO 9000, are available in remote or local mount configurations. Pre-configured panels offer contactors, relays, monitors, pilot lights, manual disconnect switches, cooling fans, integral fuses and breakers, step-down transformers and NEMA enclosures as standard. Custom panels may include individual circuit fusing, current sensing relays, ground fault breakers, circuit ammeters and third wire monitoring.
